Whether or not you have heard the term before, there is a good chance that you have done it or that you plan to do it. Simply put, dry practice is something that can be done in a short amount of time and just about anywhere. You don’t need to have a putting green in your backyard, you don’t need to be at the driving range, and you don’t need to worry about getting in an actual round of golf for practice. You will be able to practice just about anywhere that you have a little bit of room.
Typically, dry practice will include some type of visual aid that will be able to help you see your technique when you are swinging the golf clubs. It might be an instant feedback app that you download, it might be using your phone to record yourself and then watching the playback after a few swings to see what you are doing right and wrong, and then correcting it and doing it again. It might even be a mirror, which is a great way to really get a solid look at your own stance and your swings.
Because you are able to practice anywhere, and because these sessions will usually only last for 15 minutes at most, it means that even if you are busy, you can find time in the day to practice. Many people spend a lot of time at work or school, they spend time with family, running errands, and taking care of everything else they need to around the house. Getting in enough practice time can be difficult, and this can be a great substitute for those times when you can’t get out and train.
It can be a great way to get a better understanding of some of the little things that you might not have noticed you are doing wrong. Do your hands move to a slightly wrong position when you are adjusting your stance? Are you not properly lining up the ball? You can start to notice these things through dry practice for golf.
While this shouldn’t be the only way that you practice, it might become one of the main ways that you get in the time that you need. You can even practice putting with a mirror or a camera that can record you. There are plenty of options, it’s easy, and it can really help to improve your golf game.
